ScrapeCheck is operated by Fieldmode LLC ("we"). By using this service you agree to what follows. It is written in plain language on purpose.

What the service does

We fetch a web page and report whether a stated value appears on it, returning a signed verdict of pass, fail, or unverifiable.

What a verdict is, and what it is not

A verdict describes what a specific URL returned to our infrastructure at a specific moment, recorded in the verdict as its re-fetch time. It is not a statement about what the page shows now, what it showed at another time, what it shows to a different visitor, or what it shows to a browser that runs JavaScript. It is not legal advice, and it is not a determination that anyone has done anything wrong.

Scope

We read server-rendered pages. Content produced only after JavaScript runs comes back unverifiable. We do not guess, and an unverifiable is never recorded as a pass.

The free checker

A limited number of checks are available at no charge, subject to per-user and daily limits we may change. It is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability.

The Dataset Audit

$500 flat for up to 5,000 rows. The signed report is delivered within 72 hours of our receiving your data. $250 begins the work and the balance is due with the report.

Refund

Stated exactly as we state it elsewhere: if our fit check finds your data won't verify well, we tell you and refund in full.

Your data

Your rows and your results are private to you. We do not share one customer's data or outcomes with anyone else.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for having the right to submit the URLs you send us, and for what you do with a verdict afterwards.

Third-party pages

We do not control the pages we fetch. If a page is unreachable, blocks us, or changes between your submission and our fetch, that is reported as an unverifiable rather than treated as a failure of the page or of you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.

Changes

We may change these terms. Material changes will be dated on this page.
